This is the third of a graded series of books containing short anecdotes for oral or written re-telling. The intention is to train the student in the understanding and reproducing of material which he has listened to or read. It contains 60 passages, each between 225 and 350 words long. Vocabulary is restricted to the 2,075 word level and the book contains a complete word list. The grammatical structures used follow A. S. Hornby's A guide to Patterns and Usage in English.
